Volker Haller has been a Principal Consultant at CURENTIS in Luxembourg since the beginning of July 2023. After completing his Master's degree in Business Informatics at Trier University of Applied Sciences, Volker started his career at an international management consultancy and has more than 11 years of professional experience in the financial services industry in the financial centers of Luxembourg, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf.
Volker's work focuses on the implementation of core banking systems. He has specialist expertise in the areas of securities trading and settlement as well as asset services.
Why did you choose CURENTIS?
For me, the appreciation of a company's individual employees plays an important role. After the first meeting with the management of CURENTIS AG, it was immediately clear to me that we were on the same wavelength in this respect. CURENTIS AG has a family atmosphere and flat hierarchies, which enables cooperative collaboration based on efficient and simple processes.
Another aspect that influenced my decision in favor of CURENTIS is the opportunity to be involved in setting up the Luxembourg branch from day one and to help shape the strategic direction of the service portfolio. When do you ever have the opportunity in life to be involved in the realization of a vision from the very beginning?
What do your tasks consist of and what does your daily work look like?
My daily work is very varied, as I work partly remotely and partly on site at the customer's premises. In addition to programming the functionalities of a core banking system, I also act as a business analyst and coordinate between the bank's specialist department, its IT and external software providers. Since I also program myself and have acquired in-depth banking expertise over the years, it is easy for me to translate the customers' functional requirements into technical specifications.
My internal tasks relate to working on the strategic development of the service portfolio and the business development of CURENTIS Luxemburg Sarl.
What is your motto in life?
My motto in life is to always find something positive even in seemingly negative situations.
