CURENTIS AG continues its commitment to climate neutrality
CURENTIS AG underlines its ongoing commitment to climate neutrality by successfully completing its annual CO2 offsetting. This step reinforces the company's ongoing efforts to live up to its environmental responsibility.
CURENTIS has offset a total of 50 tons of CO2 equivalents, which exceeds the actual emissions of 45.74 tons. This was achieved by supporting Forliance's "Re-Spire" project in the Westerwald16. The project aims to establish climate-resilient mixed forests by reforesting and promoting natural regeneration in areas affected by climate change.
The "Re-Spire" project is characterized by the following features:
- Certification according to ISO 14064-2 by TÜV Nord
- Focus on the regeneration of German forests
- Promotion of biodiversity and ecosystem services
This is the third year in a row that CURENTIS has calculated its CO2 emissions and offset non-reducible emissions through projects. Compared to the previous year, CO2 emissions have risen from around 30 tons to 45.74 tons, which is mainly due to company cars, increased business travel and business trips by private car, which have now been recorded for the first time. These focal points are known and deliberate, but at the same time difficult to reduce because travel activities are very dependent on customers. Nevertheless, we are working with our customers to find solutions to reduce travel.
Commitment beyond CO2 compensation
In addition to CO2 offsetting, CURENTIS is also involved in other areas of sustainability:
- Supporting BeeFuture: CURENTIS has had its own bee colony on the beefuture site on Lake Ammersee since April 2022. This helps to promote biodiversity and protect the bee population, which is of crucial importance to our ecosystem.
- Commitment to the Nestwärme project: CURENTIS has supported this project, which has been helping families with children in need of care for over 20 years. Nestwärme was also part of the N.E.S.T. research project, which focused on strengthening and relieving the burden on these families and was successfully completed in September 2024.
These initiatives underline CURENTIS' holistic commitment to sustainability and social responsibility, which goes beyond mere CO2 offsetting.
CURENTIS AG is systematically continuing its commitment to CO2 reduction and offsetting. The company has already begun calculating emissions for 2024 and plans to fully offset them, as in previous years.
These measures underline CURENTIS' ongoing commitment to sustainability and social responsibility. At the same time, the company continues to work on improving its environmental footprint through targeted optimization measures.
