Summer peak season for the CURENTIS bee colony - insights into the collaboration with beefuture
CURENTIS AG's partnership with beefuture is entering its third year - and 2025 is another example of the value of sustainable commitment to biodiversity. While summer is in full bloom, our bees are experiencing their busiest time of the year. Thanks to the expert care provided by beefuture and the ongoing support of CURENTIS, the bee colony on Lake Ammersee is thriving.
Insights into the bee year 2025
Summer is high season for bees: while nature is in bloom in gardens, meadows and cities, bees are busy collecting nectar and thus contributing to the pollination of numerous plants. The colony currently comprises around 50,000 to 60,000 bees - an impressive contribution to the preservation of biodiversity.
Regular inspections by beefuture beekeepers ensure that the bee colony remains healthy. Among other things, care is taken to ensure that the queen lays enough eggs, that the food supply is secure and that the Varroa mite, the bee's natural antagonist, remains under control. This year, the development of the colony has been very positive overall: the combs are well filled, brood care is in full swing and honey production is in full swing.
Challenges and care
The spring of 2025 brought weather-related challenges in some regions, which did not leave the bees unscathed. However, thanks to the professional care provided by beefuture, all necessary measures were taken to ensure the well-being of the animals. Where necessary, additional feed was provided and particular attention was paid to the health of the colonies.
In summer, the bees now benefit from a rich variety of flowers, including elderberry, ornamental apple and various wild herbs. These plants provide a wide range of food and support the vitality of the colony.
Sustainable commitment to nature and society
By supporting beefuture, CURENTIS AG is sending a visible signal for the protection of bees and the promotion of biodiversity. The collaboration not only enables the company to keep its own bee colony in a species-appropriate manner, but also raises awareness of the importance of sustainable action in the corporate context.
We are delighted that our bee project is running successfully again this year and would like to thank beefuture for its dedicated support. Together, we are making a contribution to a vibrant and diverse environment - today and in the future.
