CURENTIS Web Seminar "Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in the Context of Money Laundering".

Anti-Financial Crime

Modern slavery and human trafficking are among the three most lucrative forms of organized crime, along with drug trafficking and trafficking in counterfeit goods. Human trafficking and forced labor are found where people are forced by threats and violence into work and further exploitation that they cannot refuse or leave.

Most of the money generated by this flows through the global financial system and creates risks for all financial institutions. These institutions can come into contact with the issue by entering into business relationships or by lending to and investing in companies that are involved in it.

The webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Meaning and backgrounds
  • What are the key drivers
  • Different types of connections and networks
  • Identification of risks and risk management

The webinar will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
